A Twisted Xmas - Live In Las
Vegas
Eagle Rock Entertainment
On one hand, the sheer idea of an 80’s monster like
Twisted Sister releasing an album full of Christmas songs sounds insane and
perhaps a bit out of left field, but on the other hand, it sounds genius. The
end result, Twisted Christmas, was a
rousing success, so much so that now we all have the chance to hear it live on A Twisted Xmas - Live In Las Vegas. In addition to
comfortable staples such as “I Wanna Rock” and “We’re Not Gonna Take It”
(honestly what kind of Twisted Sister would this be without them), the band
tears through all of your Christmas favorites, songs that come out the other
end of the Twisted Sister machine revamped and re-imagined, making such
timeless classics like “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” “White
Christmas” and “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” worth discovering all over again
thanks to booming percussions, chugging electric guitars and frontman Dee
Snider’s trademark snarl. Perhaps the highlight is the bands take on “12 Days
of Christmas,” a song which somehow slips Jack Daniels and spandex into the
liner notes. If nothing else, A Twisted
Xmas - Live In Las Vegas is frivolous, but most of all its fun as
hell.
