Thick As Blood
Living Proof
Rise Records

Living Proof finds Thick As Blood at the top of their game, putting their piss fueled metal-punk fusion on display time and again as they manage to pack nearly a dozen unwavering diatribes into this 27-minute album. Suffice to say, there’s not much downtime on Living Proof, and even less time to catch your breath, so buckle up right from the get-go. All in all, Living Proof is mainly driven by floor-punching pit-inciters (“Full Measure,” “Living Proof”), but there is more here than just simple chest-beating. This album offers enough sonic badassery that fans of hardcore and metalcore alike will leave with a smile on their face, thanks to straight-ahead chuggers like “Diente Por Diente,” though Living Proof is just as effective when it switches gears and fires off a pure noisefest like “No Rest for the Wicked.” Living Proof is a thrill ride, plain and simple, one that offers some variety and surprising depth.
