The Raconteurs
Live at Montreux
2008
Eagle Eye Media
The opening tandem of “Consoler of the Lonely” and “Hold
Up” gets Live at Montreux 2008, the first ever live DVD release from
the Raconteurs, off to a romping
start, a feeling that quite honestly does not fade throughout this 16-song set.
“Intimate Secretary” and “Level” keep the energy up about midway through this
tremendous concert, one that offers no shortage of noteworthy tracks like “Steady,
As She Goes,” “Rich Kid Blues,” “Blue Veins,” “Salute Your Situation” and “Broken
Boy Solider.”
Live at Montreux
2008 is uncharacteristic in the way that there’s no extra or bonus content
to speak of with this DVD release. That’s not that big of a deal because, let’s
face it, you’re here for the show.
To be honest, Live
at Montreux 2008 is a rather unique experience for any and all viewers
because the camera work is so incredible that it’s almost as if watching the
DVD is a better viewing experience than actually being there in person. You don’t
see that every day.
It should come as no surprise that Live at Montreux 2008 is a must own, a must see and a must have for
any fan of the Raconteurs or pretty much anything brainchild Jack White has
lent his name to.
