Live at Wembley
If you didn’t know, or don’t remember, just how many timeless, classic tunes were penned by the boys in Bad Company, then the bands Live at Wembley DVD should serve as a reminder. Just think – “Can’t Get Enough,” “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” “Shooting Star,” and “Bad Company” – songs you’ve more than likely heard throughout your day already, songs in constant rotation today, even at active rock radio. Well, each and every one of those, and many more, find their place in the bands set list on Live at Wembley.
In front of a sold out Wembley Stadium, which is pretty hard to do, Bad Company takes the stage as warriors, equipped with a killer of a set list, firing off enough popular material to put together a Bad Company Best Of, all helmed front and center by frontman Paul Rodgers. He controls the massive UK crowd time and time again, having them eat out of his hand as the band ebbs and flows through a set list consisting of not only the bands top radio hits from decades past, but also some of the bands other best work including “Rock and Roll Fantasy,” “Ready for Love” and set closer “Deal With the Preacher.”
The DVD’s bonus content isn’t all that much to speak of, though there is a slate of interviews with the band, which are just kind of there.
Bad Company on this night, and on this stage, are a sight to behold, proof positive that this tenured, veteran act still has the chops to do what they do best – entertain you.
