Ironclad Signs Turbid North

Alaskan mountain metal outfit Turbid North has announced they have signed with Ironclad Recordings. The album took an unsuspecting metal underground by storm including staunch critics like Decibel magazine who said “All the ingredients for a full on metallic smackdown are present” and Metal Sucks who proclaimed “They kick all kinds of ass.” Trevor Phipps of Ironclad Recordings (also of the band Unearth) said "We got their self released disc a few months ago and it is in constant rotation here at Ironclad. With only a few copies released we wanted to broaden the exposure of the band and this phenomenal album."

Orogeny displays the band self-proclaimed Alaskan mountain metal style retaining the galloping thrash of early 80’s period of bands like Metallica and Kreator, the technical and abrasive shredding of modern death metal and even moments of bluesy and flowing solos reminiscient of Randy Rhoades period Ozzy. A self contained DIY unit the band consists of Brian McCoy (vocals), Nick Forkel (guitar), Alex Rydlinski (guitar) his brother Adam Rydlinski (drums) and Chris O’Toole (bass). The band recorded Orogeny in the house they all share and Alex did the fully painted artwork that adorns the album.
