Hitting the Pavement: Closure In Moscow

When people think of environments that foster America's best music imports, they usually think of the UK or perhaps Canada. They most certainly don't think of Australia as a breeding ground for transcendent musical talent, but a closer look reveals that the opposite is indeed true. From the Living End to Kylie Minogue, and INXS to AC/DC, the land down under has actually given America some of its most notable and influential musical acts of the past few decades. And now, with Australia's music scene finding renewed strength and momentum, Melbourne's Closure In Moscow are poised to be the next big band to make the jump from the Outback to the Great Plains.

In order to make a full-fledged career out of their music, Closure In Moscow knew that a move to the United States was inevitable and necessary. The band relocated to Portland, OR and teamed up with Kris Crummett (Kaddisfly, Fear Before The March Of Flames, The Devil Wears Prada) on their new record, which has since been christened First Temple - out May 5th on Equal Vision Records.

Following barn-burning sets at 2009's SXSW in Austin, TX and Bamboozle Left in Irvine, CA, the band is now ready to set the rest of the country on fire with subsequent performances at this year's Bamboozle festival and some time on the road with The Sleeping.
